erase hate

Snacksie and I saw Cyndi Lauper in concert Tuesday night at Massey Hall in Toronto. She is amazing live; I highly recommend seeing her if you get the chance. Oddly enough, we did not get our purple bracelets.

You see, our Cyn met Judy Shepard in October and is now on the honourary board of the Matthew Shepard Foundation. As part of the partnership, attendees of Cyndi's current tour receive the bracelet. Whatever the reason for the absent bracelets tonight, Lauper's commitment to the foundation is admirable. She performed her new song "Above the Clouds" which was inspired, in part, by Matthew. Introducing the song, Cyndi said that she wants a world without hatred for her son and for everyone... a world where "difference would be celebrated... so that if you saw a person who was different from you, you'd be more likely to approach that person, have a converstation, and find out that maybe you weren't so different after all."

Glad you enjoyed the show. I'm all for causes but personally, how many bracelets can you fit on an arm? I think they will lose all meaning soon.

I want my bracelet. Judy Shepard gives me nothing.

I HATE THOSE STUPID BRACELETS...all of them....you don't need a bracelet to donate time and money to worthy causes....in fact they've become more of a fashion statement than anything else. who needs em?! be thankful you didn't get one. they're fugly.

glad u had a good time!!! and jason thanks you for his early xmas gift mloyd.

I am also not a big fan of the bracelet. Especially on the over 45 crowd. It's just too cult like to me.

but I want a whole freakin' rainbow of bracelets, going right up to my elbow! and I want soap residue and gunk to build up underneath and maybe eventually for one to be caught in a piece of machinery, hauling me to my grisly death...

Alright, you can have that for Xmas.

Mlyod, someone special missed you on Saturday night...did he get a chance to leave you a message?

He did. I sure missed everyone at Brad & Marc's... especially my Air Canada peeps.

Boud, I dunno about you having those bracelets running up your arm - I'm pretty sure that they're made of latex, and oil-based lubricants like vaseline and crisco break down latex. I just don't think that they would last very long :(

It was bad enough that I miised the show, but now I learn that I missed out on a free bracelet as well---The Horror!

While I agree that these bracelets have become rather passe when worn on one's arm, I have found that they make splendid cock-rings. I like for a man to be aware of my social conscience and political convictions when he is going down on me.

Mloyd,
did you just spell 'commitment' with two t's? Oh MY God! WHAT is this world coming to?!

=)

lips: brilliant. However, it begs the question: which cause has a black band? (just a preference...)

natasha: thanks for having my back. The correction has been made.

MR: I'm totally jealous that you got to see her in concert.

And I'm with Felonius...they do make great cockrings.
