this post is like the mandatory sax solo in an eighties pop song

Expected. De rigueur. Kickin'!
What do we do with our lives?
We leave only a mark
Will our story shine like a light
Or end in the dark?
Give it all or nothing!
doo doo doo doo doo doo doooo doooo...
Tina Turner, "We Don't Need Another Hero"

Don't you get sad and lonely
You need a change from what you do all day
Ain't no sense in all your crying
Just pick it up and throw it into shape
INXS, "What You Need"

Always slipping from my hands,
Sand's a time of its own
Take your seaside arms and write the next line
Oh I want the truth to be known
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is -- true
Spandau Ballet, "True"

Dusty words lying under carpets
Seldom heard, well, must you keep your secrets
Locked inside, hidden deep from view?
Do I seem all that hard? Is it all that tough?
Now I've shown you all my cards, well isn't that enough?
You can hide your hurt
But there's something you can do
You can talk to me
You can talk to me -- when you're down, now
You can talk to me
T-t-talk to me
Stevie Nicks, "Talk To Me"

First to post!

"Take your seaside arms...?"

I was hearing something else. Like Sleestack or something.

I know... I checked about 10 sources, and listened to that section of the track repeatedly. Unfortunately, I don't have the actual liner notes to the original album, so... who knows if the lyrics I dredged up on teh Internetz are accurate.

This post also reminds me that I have to update my template. Italics in Arial font are absolute shit.

For some reason this made me think of that Annie Lennox song where it goes "here comes the rain again falling on my head like a memory...walk with me, like lovers do. Talk with me, like lovers do"...or something close to that. Do you know it? It's come in to my brain several times randomnly this week. Maybe it's the rain.

Is there a sax solo in this?

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.
